Commemorate WOC’s 45 Years of Prophetic Persistence

This November (27-30), the Women’s Ordination Conference will commemorate 45 years of prophetic persistence with a virtual gala and auction: “Breaking Bread at the Table of Justice: A Celebration of Prophetic Persistence.”

The gala and auction will be streamed over several days, without charge. You will be able to watch the gala at your own pace to truly enjoy testimonies from theologians, members of the Young Feminist Network, former and current staff members, and much more! Together we will give thanks to our trailblazing founders, members, and organizers, and all those who have broken bread around the table of justice.

As you may know, Thanksgiving weekend is a special time for the Women’s Ordination Conference, an anniversary we celebrate as the launch of our unstoppable movement. This year, We hope you will join us in preparing for our fabulous, feminist feast by:

  • Marking your calendar! November 27-30 (You can watch at your leisure, anytime that weekend, but the auction will close on November 30th);
  • Donating an item or experience to the auction! This is a creative way to share your gifts and blessings with WOC members. Artwork, handmade items, WOC memorabilia, liturgical gifts, baskets, experiences, vacation stays — all will be considered. Please contact Kate McElwee.
  • Sharing your stories of WOC throughout the decades – experiences, funny memories, poems, prayers, photos, audio recordings! We will collect and cherish your stories and share them throughout the weekend.

Our herstory is our strength, and together, our prophetic persistence for gender justice in the Catholic Church, through your witness, prayers, donations, ministries, and resistance, is the revolution for radical equality. Thank you for your courage and strength on this living journey for justice.
