Welcome to the website of the Women’s Ordination Conference!

Thank you for visiting our website, and we’re excited you are here to find out more about us.

Since 1975, the Women’s Ordination Conference (WOC) has been a visible feminist advocate for the ordination of women as priests, deacons and bishops into an inclusive and accountable Roman Catholic Church. We are headquartered in Washington, D.C. and have staff in Boston and Rome, Italy.

Through this website, we are pleased to present you with an overview of our programs, ways you can get involved, and educational resources about women’s leadership in the Catholic Church.

Our innovative programming has resulted in increased public awareness regarding our mission, and despite decrees from the Vatican, we have kept the discussion on women’s ordination open and the pressure on, so that the church will reflect Jesus’ example of full equality and justice for women.

A central part of WOC’s mission for its entire her-story—is that we must address the root causes of exclusion and oppression within the Church and work to bring about structural change. Our mission is not to “add women and stir,” but to bring about a priestly ministry that includes women and that is feminist, anti-racist, and accountable.

As a result of our collaborative work with many church reform organizations on local, national and international levels, our work reaches into local communities and across oceans to have the strongest impact. We focus on grassroots activism and public education efforts through demonstrations, media campaigns, and publications.

We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope you enjoy exploring this site. If you like what you see, please consider joining WOC as a member, which you can do today by clicking here.

For equality,
