  WOC Supports Women Religious

In the spring of 2012, the Vatican issued a scathing statement faulting the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) for promoting “radical feminist themes” and “corporate dissent,” causing outrage among Catholics around the globe. Last month, the Vatican chief of doctrine, Cardinal Gerhard Müller, accused the nuns of not abiding to the harsh and unjust reform agenda imposed on them. In addition, the document personally attacked renowned theologian Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, CSJ.

TAKE ACTION TO SUPPORT U.S. WOMEN RELIGIOUS

1. Sign the online petition asking Pope Francis to remove the mandate against LWCR and publicly apologize to LCWR and Sr. Elizabeth Johnson.

2. Download our letter, add your own comments and send it to to the Vatican.

3. Tweet Pope Francis @Pontifex

4. Help Pope Francis learn more about feminist theology, send him copy of Sr. Elizabeth Johnson’s book, Quest for the Living God, in Spanish, or any of your favorites written by feminist theologians.
