Women's Ordination: The Power to Heal
Organize a local event! On March 25, the World Day of Prayer for
Women's Ordination, WOC joins women's ordination supporters around the
world to honor women called to priestly ministry. Each year WOC sponsors
public events and prayerful protests supporting women's ordination on
this special day. Many local groups across the United States organize
public witnesses, home liturgies, or lectures about women's ordination.
This year, spurred on by revelations of clergy sexual
abuse, WOC is promoting the belief that the ordination of women is a necessary
step in the church's healing process. With this in mind, we have chosen Women's Ordination: The Power to Heal as the theme for the 2003 World Day of Prayer.
Join the global movement! Last
year, many of you received the World Day
of Prayer Activist Packet which contained ideas
and resources for local organizing. Because of the many positive responses
we received, WOC created the new 2003 Activist
Packet Supplement with even more resources to
help you organize a successful World Day of Prayer event.
Contact Joy Barnes, WOC Program Director at grassroots@womensordination.org to receive your free “2003 Activist Packet Supplement.” If
you didn't receive a “World Day of Prayer Activist Packet”
last year, we can send you both items this year. When
requesting either packet, be sure to include your mailing address.
