1. Celebrate the feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, patron saint of women’s ordination, on October 1st!
This Sunday, October 1 st is the feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, and to honor her, we have sent our members a postcard to sign and send back to us. We will deliver the postcards to the bishops at their November meeting in Baltimore, Md. You can express your call to a renewed priestly ministry, or your support for women’s ordination into a renewed priesthood.
These cards will show the bishops in a tangible way that the vast majority of women’s ordination supporters will remain quiet no longer! Once you receive the postcard, please complete and send it back to us today!

2. Complete the WOC Membership Survey * now online!*
Click here to download, print, complete and mail in WOC’s membership survey, which we have just added to our website! Look under the “What’s New?” section, and you will see the link next to the bright orange “WOC’s Membership Survey.” WOC members will also receive the survey with the recent membership renewal mailing.

3. Visit the Women’s Ordination Worldwide (WOW) Archives
The WOW archives from the Dublin and Ottawa conferences are now accessible to all online!! www.womenpriests.org
To enter, just go into the site and go to the drop-down menu under the heading 'Major Sections' where the WOW archives for Dublin and Ottawa are mentioned. Or you can go straight into the documents from: http://www.womenpriests.org/wow/program.asp
You can also visit BASIC’s website: www.basic.ie, and select WOW2001 from the Features section on the front page. We hope you enjoy these treasure troves of information!
4. Apply for the Bishop Murphy Scholarship for Women in Graduate Study in Theology!
As part of WOC’s commitment to a renewing priestly ministry, we have created a permanent scholarship fund. We award $1000 annual scholarships for female WOC members in seminary and diocesan certificate programs. We encouraged you to join WOC and apply!
Candidates must provide:
- A letter of recommendation from a mentor who can testify to the candidate's commitment to WOC's goals
- Personal statement of how her future ministry supports WOC's mission
- Resume or Curriculum Vita
- Proof of enrollment
Scholarship funds should be applied to educational expenses. Recipients are required to submit a report at the end of the grant period explaining how the award impacted her study and growth. Application materials are due January 30, 2007 . Scholarships awarded June 2007.

National Catholic Ministries Alliance (NCMA) presents a day-long seminar...
Bridging the Gap: Gender Equality, Sex and Ordination
As a member of the National Catholic Ministries Alliance, WOC is planning a day-long pre-CTA conference seminar with keynote speakers Anthony Padovano, Andrea Johnson, Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger, Mary Ramerman and more to discuss and promote the movement for an inclusive and renewing Catholic priesthood.
A panel will feature Carmen Lane, Ray Grosswirth, Tom Honore, and Kathy Vandenberg, talking about their individual journeys as women and married men living out their call to a renewed priestly ministry. 3. November 12-16: Prayerful demonstration at the US bishops meeting in Baltimore
A prayerful demonstration is planned to occur outside the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Mass on November 12 th at the Basilica of the Assumption (downtown Baltimore). The USCCB meeting will be held on November 13-16 at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel (downtown Baltimore on the edge of Little Italy).
