Tips on Writing a Letter to the Editor Print E-mail
  • Letters to the editor can be written in response to a recent article or feature published by the newspaper. State your agreement or disagreement with the piece, and provide supporting or substantiating information.
  • Your letter has the greatest chance of being published if it is well-written, clear, and concise.
  • Many newsletters and magazines tell you the maximum length they will accept in a letter. Where they do not, check the average length of the letters they print and keep yours to that length.
  • Always state that you are a member of the Women's Ordination Conference and include your name, along the other information requested by the publication.
