Tips on Writing a Letter to the Editor

Letters to the editor can be written in response to a recent article or feature published by the newspaper. State your agreement or disagreement with the piece, and provide supporting or substantiating information.
Your letter has the greatest chance of being published if it is well-written, clear, and concise.
Many newsletters and magazines tell you the maximum length they will accept in a letter. Where they do not, check the average length of the letters they print and keep yours to that length.
Always state that you are a member of the Women's Ordination Conference and include your name, along the other information requested by the publication.
