The Women's Ordination Conference (WOC) in Fairfax, VA is looking for interns to assist in coordinating local and national programs that advocate Catholic women being ordained as priests, deacons and bishops in the Catholic Church.
This internship is a great opportunity for people interested in women’s studies, religious studies, non-profit organizations and Catholic church reform. Interns can work on a number of projects including fundraising, developing educational resources, providing administrative and technical assistance to local WOC groups around the United States, and compiling articles for our quarterly newsletter NewWomen, NewChurch.
An internship at WOC can be tailored to fit the interests of the applicant. WOC internships are 15-20 hours per week for credit at a sponsoring university or college, and are unpaid.
Qualifications:
- A strong researcher; familiar with Microsoft Word and the internet
- Equipped with multi-tasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work alone and in cooperative decision-making settings
- A self-starter and self-motivated
- Committed to WOC’s mission and vision (see below)
